Reform Council Holds First Sitting

The First Sitting of the Reform Council was held on 06, April, 2012. The Sitting was chaired by the Prime Minister Tigran Sargsyan. 

Before proceeding to the agenda, the Prime Minister addressed the audience with a welcoming speech: "We are holding the first meeting of the newly formed council, which must deal with regulatory legal acts in an effort to cut the senseless red tape. The Council has the mission of identifying and addressing redundancies in government functions by means of regulations, institutional and legislative improvement, as well as changes in the current practice.”

Armen Yeghiazaryan, acting Director of NCLR, reported on the preparations for the launch of the NCLR.

The Reform Council discussed the action plan of the NCLR for 2012 as well as the activities undertaken by the NCLR. As a result, the first three priorities were defined at the project appraisal stage out of those 17 sectors stipulated by the Presidential Decree 246-H dated 17 September 2011, namely the healthcare, public utilities and transport sectors.

The Council approved an estimate of expenditures for the Office in 2012, as well as the format of regular panel discussions.
