A package of proposals on transport sector has been discussed

Chaired by Prime Minister Tigran Sargsyan, the Economy-Related Legal Act Reform Council of the Republic of Armenia met in the Office of Government.

Before the meeting, Prime Minister Tigran Sargsyan congratulated Minister of Emergency Situations Armen Yeritsyan on birthday, wishing him good health and every success. Armen Yeghiazaryan, Acting Director of the National Center for Legislative Regulation presented a package of proposals on transport sector that are relevant to taxi-borne and regular passenger traffic and inland freight. Mr. Yegiazaryan reported back the findings of surveys on licensing and exercise of those activities.

The package of legislation takes into account the international experience. With the adoption of the package, there will be invalidated some legal acts, a number of instruments will be improved while reducing required for business operations processes.

Reforms in the taxi-service sector

Chaired by the Prime Minister Tigran Sargsyan, the Economic Sphere’s Regulatory Reform Council held a meeting in the Office of Government Armen Yeghiazaryan, Acting Director of the National Centre for Legislative Regulation PIU at the Government Staff of the Republic of Armenia presented the package of proposals in the sector of transport, specifically related to the passenger taxi transportation.

The organization of transportation in the above mentioned field has been examined and essentially simplified. The legislative package has been designed taking into account the international experience. Upon passing of the package, a series of legal acts will be improved or recognized invalid and at the same time a number of business processes will be simplified.

Gas, Water Management-Related Legislation Streamlined

Chaired by Prime Minister Tigran Sargsyan, the Economic Legal Act Reform Council met in the Office of Government.

Government Staff’s National Center for Streamlined Legislation PIC Acting Director Armen Yeghiazaryan presented a package of proposals on public utilities, which covers the natural gas and water management areas.

The connectivity and maintenance-related procedures have been studied along with a set of draft amendments to establish connection application forms, terms, procedures and other issues.

The legislative package is designed taking into account the international experience.Following package adoption a number of legal acts will be invalidated or upgraded, business procedures will be simplified and reduced to improve the quality of services provided to citizens.

Public Utility Regulatory Framework Being Improved

Chaired by Prime Minister Tigran Sargsyan, the Economic Sphere’s Regulatory Reform Council met in the Office of Government.
 
Acting Director of Government Staff’s National Center for Streamlined Legislation Armen Yeghiazaryan presented a package of proposals related to public utilities, the telecommunications and energy sectors.
 
The proposals are aimed at the Public Services Regulatory Commission (PSRC)-regulated licensing process, electricity connection deadlines, simplification and reduction in number of PSRC rulings and other decisions.
 
The legislative package has been designed taking into account the international experience. Upon passing of the package a series of legal acts will either be improved or recognized as invalid.
